How I do it (V): The manager phase

Now I'm in a position to start writing the novel. The next essential thing is to define the short-term objectives, so that we can define deadlines, which in turn will help us to develop the whole process in the time we consider appropriate.

In my case, I like books between 300 and 400 pages. From experience, I need about 80,000 words to reach that number of pages.

I also know from experience that I can write about 2000 words a day without big problems.

There I have the first goal: To finish the first draft in the next 6 weeks. And also an easy way to measure my progress, on average I have to write 2000 words per day. I always tried to write a little more, to reward myself with a day off for example.

Any strategy that works to stay motivated is more than welcome.
