Commitment to deliver

So far, the hardest thing I've found when it comes to writing is to stay consistent. I have already spoken in other posts about it, the need to write every day, the importance of creating the habit. But even so, sometimes it is not enough. For me, writing is a hobby, to which I dedicate part of my free time. Daily work sometimes requires so much energy that the last thing I want to do when I get home is to get back in front of the computer again and write. So it's easy that the days go by without me advancing in the novel. It doesn't matter if I have good planning and know exactly what I want to write about, it just seems like nothing is progressing, just because I didn't write for a few days. But when that happens, those extra days are added little by little and the pressure increases, deep down you know that you are delaying and it is not what you want. The best solution I have found so far, is to define the dates. Based on advance planning, in which you estimate how long each part of the process will take, you get a theoretical delivery date. In my case, for the next novel is at the end of this year, in December. What I have done is to announce that date in my blog, that way I have committed myself to publish it on time. What I have achieved with that is keeping in mind that if I don't write anything today, I endanger my commitment. If I know that tomorrow I won't have time to write, today I will have to invest more time because if I don't, I put commitment in danger.
