Long live yWriter6 (I)
Today is an important day, I begin to write the next volume of "The Factory of Gods" with a new tool: yWriter6.
Until now I had always used Latex to write, basically because is what I knew best. But as the plots get more complicated, something more is needed to get everything under control, and that's where yWriter makes your life easier.
Its main difference with other editors is how it defines the structure of a story. A story contains several chapters. Each chapter contains one or more scenes. Each scene involves one or more characters.
In the editor you create the scenes, not only narrating that part of the story, but also including all the meta-information (characters involved, locations, etc.). The great advantage of this is that it forces you to detail every part of the scene, every twist, every aspect of the characters. And that, in the long run, improves the coherence of the story.
Also the fact of keeping in a single place all the information of each character, location, etc. helps to improve that coherence, so easy to break in long stories, sagas or as in my case, trilogies.
